Waresley Warriors lose ECB regional play-off

 

Huntingdonshire winners, Waresley Warriors, were defeated by 18 runs by Bedfordshire champions Flitwick in the regional play-off match at St.Ivo Indoor Leisure Centre on Sunday 6 February.

 

Flitwick amassed 155 for 3 off their 12 overs in an innings dominated by Phil Gurney [50 not out] and Paul Thurstance [35 not out]. Waresley made a spirited response but lost wickets at crucial times of their innings, with Raj Singh 41 top-scoring. Simon Donald [29] and Matt Rawling [21] also contributed but the Hunts side were all out for 140

off the first ball of the last over.
