FREE CLUBHOUSE SOLAR PANELS AND ELECTRICITY
There is now an opportunity to get solar panels installed onto your clubhouse roof for free and then enjoy the benefits of free electricity for 25 years.
There are a number of criteria that need to be met in terms of size of roof and orientation of the building but please see the link below which will provide more details of the scheme and how to apply.
The link is http://www.freetricityenergy.com/ and could be very relevant to a number of cricket clubs.

DRAFT NATIONAL PLANNING FRAMEWORK
The Department for Communities and Local Government [DCLG] has put out for Consultation the National Planning Policy Framework [NPPF] and Cricket Clubs are invited to respond to the document by 17 October 2011. Currently if a developer builds over an existing sports facility they must replace it with an equivalent facility or better. NPPF considers that a replacement provision is not required if the needs for and the benefits of the development clearly outweigh the loss.
The ECB Funding and Facilities Department consider this to be a potential threat to Cricket Clubs and encourage all to respond to the DCLG suggesting additional wording is added to the relevant clause to ensure a suitable replacement is provided. A template of a letter that could be sent to DCLG is shown below; it just needs to be completed and put onto Club headed paper.
